Juan Manuel Franco Solá

Curious and autodidact, Juan loves to learn and teach. He is a visual arts professor for elementary and high school students. Juan started learning about Filete Porteño by himself in 2014. Two years later he took classes with Aquiles Ducet and then with Facundo Leguizamon. Juan’s style mixes the Filete Porteño and illustration techniques in an effort to visually narrate stories from tango, folklore, and other autochthonous art forms. He highlights admired public figures such as music and sports idols but also creates oniric images.

True to the Filete Porteño tradition, Juan paints on different objects, wood, metal sheets, and murals. He also creates digital art. Juan’s exhibitions include “La Noche de Los Museos” a city-wide event where museums and public transportation remain open all night, the Carrousel du Louvre Art week in Paris, France, as part of the Grupo Masque2, an art exhibition at the French Embassy in Argentina, and the Argentine house of the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris in 2022.
