Diego Martin Prenollio
Diego is a muralist, scenographer, and Fileteador with more than 20 years of experience in the artistic scene. Like most Fileteadores, he learned the Filete Porteño technique from more experienced Fileteadores. Diego started his path in 1995 under the guidance of Jorge Dieguez working on window shops, signage, and other objects. He won the 2004 muralist art contest “El Abasto y el Filete Porteño” in which six early 20th century houses’ facades were painted in Filete style in the Abasto neighborhood of Buenos Aires, creating an open art gallery in the heart of the city.
In 2011 Diego met Memo Caviglia, who became his friend and mentor. Together with other Fileteadores Porteños, they founded the Asociación de Fileteadores (Filete Association) Diego was part of the research team that worked on the application that lead to the Filete Porteño technique inscription in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Diego is the second president of the Filete Association. He participated in countless exhibitions including the first Filete Porteño exhibition in Beijing and Shanghai, China. Diego’s art has been chosen by many top companies such as Starbucks, Coca-Cola, Nike, Mercedes Benz, Sony Music, Google, Burger King, and many others.
Diego studied drawing and painting at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes Prilidiano Pueyrredón and scenography at Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA). Diego also manages a team that has dressed the most important artistic roller skating teams and clubs in Argentina including River Plate, Geba, Bohemia, Mastershow, Baires Show, and Adonia, among others.
